Amp glow
A structured glow sits in one corner or along one edge, the same in every frame.
- At 100 %
Blink several subs, stretched hard. The glow does not move or change, and your dark frames have it too, in the same place.
- Causes, most likely first
Amp glow from the sensor
Some sensor models glow from their own electronics and others do not. Because the glow comes from the camera, it is in dark frames shot with the camera covered.
FixCalibrate with darks matched to the lights: same exposure, gain, offset and temperature. Darks on CMOS do not scale, so each sub length needs its own.

- Looks like, but isn't
A gradient varies with the sky. Amp glow is fixed to the sensor and the same in every frame.
A light leak
Amp glow is in darks shot with the camera covered. A leak changes with the light around the rig.
- One frame can't tell you
One frame cannot separate amp glow from a leak or a gradient. A dark frame from the same camera can.
- How to confirm the fix
After dark subtraction, the corner matches the rest of the background under a hard stretch.
- Sources
No outside source is cited here. The signature, the causes and their order are the atlas’s own, from imaging experience. The order is a judgment of likelihood; no measured frequency is behind it.
