Neon colors

Colors are oversaturated and unnatural across the image.

At 100 %

The nebula and the star colors. Hues are pure and loud, with few muted tones between them.

Causes, most likely first
  1. Saturation pushed globally

A saturation boost applied to the whole image lifts every hue at once, the faint background included.

FixLower the boost, and apply it to the nebula alone if it needs more.

  2. Narrowband palette applied without restraint

Mapping narrowband channels to color at full strength gives pure, flat hues.

FixMap the palette at partial strength and compare it with the plain channel combination before committing.

Looks like, but isn't

The atlas lists no look-alike for this one.

One frame can't tell you

Color is partly taste, and one image cannot say what you meant it to look like. Compare it with the version before the saturation boost.

How to confirm the fix

Colors that hold up beside the version before the boost, with muted tones where the signal is faint.

Sources

No outside source is cited here. The signature, the causes and their order are the atlas’s own, from imaging experience. The order is a judgment of likelihood; no measured frequency is behind it.
